On this page I've compiled two lists, for those visitors searching for Arabic names, the first list is:

Arabic boys names: أسماء عربيه للأولاد

And the second list is Arabic girls names: أسماء عربيه للبنات

The reason for compiling the list of Arabic boys and girls names originated from this:

While I was preparing a genealogy consultation for an Arabic noble tribe, I spent many long hours burning the midnight oil, while researching, moving from old parchments and family manuscripts, to scanning historical data and tracing and analyzing the tribal linage through Arabic tribal history.

Arabic tribes genealogy:

أصول القبائل العربيه و أنسابها

Arabic Nobles:

الأشراف

Manuscripts:

مخطوطه ، مخطوطات

During these long hours of going back and forwards between parchments and websites, I noticed that some websites keep making the same linguistic mistakes in writing names in Arabic over and over again!

When it comes to choosing your name, you cannot afford making a mistake, because most times your going to be stuck with the name for life!

Here are some of the common mistakes I've found:

  • Some of the names offered are obsolete, and are not used anymore...
  • And nobody wants an obsolete or weird name for their baby boy or baby girl!

  • Some of the proposed Arabic names never even existed, or at least I've never heard of them before.
  • Some of the meanings المعني offered for these names are not accurate and some are just plain wrong! Proably because they were translated using some of those free online English to Arabic machine translations that don't work very well, if at all.
  • Some of the spellings الهجاء are not accurate.
  • Some of the pronunciations النطق are not accurate.
  • Some of the names Like Ali and Omar start with the Arabic letter AIN which exists in the Arabic alphabet but now replaced with A and O respectively without mentioning, leaving the person, Arab or Non-Arab, uninformed or misinformed, about the accurate spelling and pronunciation of his/her name .

My advice?

Choose a name that sounds pleasant to you, and learn how to pronounce it correctly and how to write it accurately!

All the best
